Autumn Wedding at The Orchard

The Orchard in Hood River is one of the most stunning venues in all of Oregon. Aptly named, this secluded location is surrounded by an orchard of pear trees and encased by sweeping Mt. Hood views. During the fall, this incredible venue showcases some of the most gorgeous scenery in the Western part of the states. You’ll see snow-sprinkled mountain tops, delicate falling leaves, and lush greenery surrounding The Orchard. Although this venue is a knockout any time of the year, fall offers a unique and cozy environment that is hard to beat. Fall weddings have become some of my personal favorites as they have so many incredible benefits that simply can’t be experienced during any other time of the year.

Avoid The Heat

The first and arguably most important perk to getting married during the fall season is a lack of the sweat-inducing heat that you would typically experience during the summer or even spring seasons. Nothing is worse than feeling sticky sweat as you walk down the aisle. During fall, temperatures are mild and cozy, allowing you to explore adorable elements like a lace-adorned long sleeve dress, fire pits after dinner, or a fall-favorite dessert like a woodfired smores bar. Guests will appreciate the off-season wedding, too, as they enjoy soaking in the ceremony without the usual sweltering heat, just as they did at this Autumn wedding at The Orchard

Stunning Natural Colors

The colors in fall are truly unmatched, especially in the beautiful state of Oregon. Deep greens, lush reds, and burnt oranges can lend a hand to some of the most beautiful wedding color schemes you have ever seen. Summer weddings tend to follow a lighter color palette, such as taupes, golds, and dusty roses. In the fall, you can explore some deeper colors that really make your ensembles pop. Dark blues, sage greens, and various shades of red can elevate the decor, spice up your bridesmaid’s dresses, and contribute to the cozy, autumnal feeling. Not to mention, the wedding blooms during this season are drop-dead gorgeous and will provide plenty of options to nail your vibrant arrangements.

Less Competition

Especially following the wedding season of 2020, the competition for venue bookings has exploded, especially at The Orchard in Hood River. Some couples are having to book over a year out for the high season in particular. The most popular time of year to get married is during the summer and although summer weddings do have a lot to offer, fall weddings are just as lovely but with far less competition. Most couples choose summer because of the flexibility of travel for their guests. By opting for fall, you can not only secure your dream venue when you want, but you can also save some money in the process.
